Oil Lamp Insert (Package of 3)

A glass insert that will make a candle out of any gourd about 4 inches tall or more. Pick a gourd with a stable (flat) base, drill a 5/8 inch hole in the top, then insert the tube. The wick holder and the wick remove for filling with lamp oil, then re-insert and light.

This is not only for gourds, but many other materials (clay, stone) that can be formed or drilled to hold it.

You need 3¼ inches clearance inside the gourd.

We recommend (and carry) a forstner-style bit to drill the hole, as simple wood spade bits are prone to cracking the gourd's shell.

And, of course, you're working with fire. Be careful! Not for children; never leave any burning lamp unattended. Overall length about 4 inches, 5/8" diameter tube, flange is 27/32" wide.

Each one is three pieces: the long tube, a glass wick holder insert, and 1/8" diameter fiberglass wick.
